INSPIRING ST. PAUL STEM-SCHOLARS
IN 6th GRADE

Imagine a new way of learning at Laura Jeffrey Academy, where we believe that YOU matter. We’re changing the world, one classroom at a time, and developing well-rounded scholars with big hearts, bright futures and the ability to think critically. We focus on STEM classes that stimulate an interest in learning and pursuing careers in the STEM fields. Your future is loading.

As our students progress through middle school, we are thrilled to welcome them to the 8th grade, a year filled with exciting opportunities for growth and exploration. At Laura Jeffrey Academy, our commitment to developing well-rounded scholars who think critically, challenge norms, and envision bright futures remains unwavering. In 8th grade, we continue to prioritize a holistic education that prepares our students for high school and beyond. We know that LJA students will go on to do great things, and this year is all about helping students build confidence and excitement for the rest of their learning journey and beyond.

THE LJA WAY

Laura Jeffrey Academy is not just a school; it's a community that believes in doing what works best for our students. Our approach to education may look different from the traditional model, but it's because we value individuality, creativity, and the pursuit of knowledge. We empower our scholars to think, dream, and do, fostering empowered students who are ready to face the challenges of high school and beyond.

Academic excellence

In 8th grade, we maintain our commitment to academic excellence. Our students continue to engage with a challenging curriculum that prepares them for the rigors of high school. While we specialize in STEM education, our focus extends beyond academics. We aim to instill in our scholars a love of learning, critical thinking skills, and the ability to apply their knowledge to real-world situations.

Leadership and Community Education

At this stage of middle school, we encourage our 8th-grade scholars to take on leadership roles within our school community. Through mentorship programs and peer support initiatives, they not only strengthen their sense of belonging but also develop the skills to be confident, compassionate leaders. Our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment remains steadfast, ensuring that students can openly discuss important issues and contribute to positive change.

Preparation for High School and Beyond

As our students prepare to transition to high school, we provide guidance and support to help them make informed decisions about their educational future. We believe in nurturing their curiosity, fostering their sense of wonderment, and instilling the belief that they are capable of achieving their dreams. In 8th grade, we celebrate their accomplishments and prepare them for the exciting journey ahead.

LJA scholars aren’t all on the same path: our students attend various high schools: public schools, charter schools, private schools, and virtual schools. That’s why we focus on preparing students for success no matter where they go next. LJA scholars learn to Think, Dream, and Do—and we love to watch them blossom and grow into their next adventures.

Join us at Laura Jeffrey Academy, where we continue to inspire and empower middle school scholars to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners who positively impact the world.
