What is Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness?

Formerly known as World’s Best Workforce (WBWF), Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR) was established under Minnesota Statutes, Section 120B.11 to ensure that every public school district and charter school in Minnesota is helping all students succeed—academically, socially, and civically.

Each school board or charter school authorizer must develop a comprehensive, long-term strategic plan focused on five statewide goals:

  • All children are ready for school.

  • All racial and economic achievement gaps between students are closed.

  • All students are ready for career and college.

  • All students graduate from high school.

  • All students are lifelong learners, prepared for civic readiness.

Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness Plan

Each district and charter school creates a local plan to align curriculum, instruction, and supports that prepare every student for success in school and beyond.

The success of Laura Jeffrey Academy’s plan is measured by:

  • Local assessment data

  • FastBridge scores

  • Closing the achievement gap by student group

  • MCA scores

LJA works closely with our authorizer, Osprey Wilds, to determine annual CACR goals. Our staff regularly review data to identify areas of opportunity and use those insights to guide instruction and improvement.

Annual Meeting

Under Minnesota Statutes, Section 120B.11, all school districts and charter schools must hold an annual public meeting to share progress toward Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness goals.

During the meeting, Laura Jeffrey Academy presents our CACR goals and results, along with the strategies and initiatives we use to meet those goals.
