Experience Based Education

Exploration is a common practice at LJA. Students are presented with well thought-out problems to be solved, creating a variety of opportunities for students to form their ideas and wrestle with those problems.

For instance, students will use tests and experiments to invent new machines and make old ones work better. They build bridges and towers and take apart engines, while learning as an engineer. Through experimentation and exploration, students develop cognitively, emotionally, socially and ethically; they learn to make connections among their communities, broader society and the global world.
