Schedule Explanations:
One: The Alternate A/B & C/D courses are offered on a M/W/F and Tu/Th weekly alternating basis.
Two: World Language will be offered as a cultural and linguistic immersion experience during intersessions with multiple exposures. A sampling of the languages includes Spanish, Chinese, Hmong, and Hindi.
Three: The Performance Assessment period will allow students to work on their term-long projects that will help them show their overall understanding of the interdisciplinary content they are exposed to daily. They will be planning and developing their performance project in large and small groups with other LJA students. Students will be presenting their performance project at the end of each term to a group of peers, LJA staff, parents, and community members.
Four: The Alternate D Course labeled ‘Technology/STEM’ is a specialized science, technology, engineering and math course offered by LJA. It will include a specific integrated learning experience that involves hands-on and computer modeled learning.
