Geoff Howard has seen an absence of women in his sciences schooling and technical career. He believes the best way to build great teams and great solutions is though diversity of thought and he would like to see more women technologists. He is especially interested in working to increase the uses of technology in LJA classrooms. (I believe Geoff will be here tonight – you can ask him to stand).
Maggie Struck has been an educator for 15 years and she is currently working on her PhD in critical literacy at the University of MN. She worked on a Youth Participatory Action research project with LJA girls and has led valuable professional development for LJA staff.
Annie Hotop has worked hard to make the LJA Gala a success for the past two years. She is a graduate of women’s colleges and knows first hand the importance of girl-focused education. She brings board experience and her expertise in recruitment, retention and evaluation will serve the board and school well into the future.
Sharon Gifford became a supporter of LJA as a member of WIN (Women of Influence Giving Circle). There is lots of room to grow Donor Development and Fundraising in LJA’s budget and she is excited for the challenge. She also brings years of board expertise, corporate experience and connections.
Devavani Chatterjea is a Scientist and Associate professor of Biology at Macalester college. She is also a parent of a student who will be a 7th grader at LJA next fall. Devavani served on the Board of Directors when LJA first opened and is excited to be back with a goal of establishing sustainable STEM partnerships between Macalester and LJA.
Cindy Reuther is the founder of LJA and has been our Executive Director for 7 years. She is excited to move to a board position to continue to network and bring in new Development opportunities to enhance technology, curriculum and enrichment opportunities for girls at LJA. She brings years of board experience and consulting to the role.
